The City of North Las Vegas Granted Most Federal Earmarks in Nevada
Municipality Receives Eight Requests Totaling More than $6 Million in Funding
Thanks to the advocacy of our Congressional delegation, the City of North Las Vegas was granted the most federal earmarks of any jurisdiction in Nevada, resulting in more than $6.3 million for resident services and programming.
Eight of the City of North Las Vegas’ FY23 requests were approved in the federal omnibus budget to fund police, fire, court, utility, community services, and economic development programs and projects within the City of North Las Vegas.
“Every dollar brought back is a force multiplier in economic impact and benefit to our residents,'' said City of North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. “We are so grateful to Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Senator Jacky Rosen and Congressman Steven Horsford, who championed these funds back to our residents. These dollars will enable us to continue several successful pilot programs, create new programs, maintain and repair essential infrastructure, increase crisis response in the community, and provide more health and wellness services for our first responders, while also putting dollars back into the local economy. This is a win for our federal delegation, our residents, the City of North Las Vegas and all of Southern Nevada.”
